Our philosophy in the Science department centers on experiential learning. Students spend dedicated time each day in the classroom or lab learning spaces, actively engaging in science and building critical thinking and problem-solving skills along the way. Students work in teams most of the time, collaborating on hands-on activities and being exposed to different perspectives on how to solve problems. Through team building, student hone essential skills for everyday life - like adaptability, effective communication and conflict resolution. Students also have the opportunity to showcase their learning at conferences and competitions. NCSSM has a strong presence at these functions - on the state, national and international levels.
